Part of our Florentine Collection, this statue is mad of a resin stone mix. Archangel Gabriel pays tribute to the Annunciation, when he appeared to the Blessed Mother and asked if she would consent to being the mother of God’s Son. This beautiful hand-painted depiction features sticking details including a bouquet of lilies and a banner draped over Gabriel’s arm bearing the words “Ave Maria.”
In the Gospel of Luke, Gabriel is referred to as "an angel of the Lord" (Luke 1:11). The Archangel Gabriel appears four times in the Scriptures, the most recognized being at the Annunciation (Luke 1:26-38). Gabriel is recognized as the patron saint of messengers, telecommunication workers, and postal workers. His feast day is celebrated on September 29, along with St. Michael and St. Raphael.
