San Juan de la Cruz is patron of Contemplatives. Memorial: Dec 14. Also featured in our line as Saint John of the Cross, Juan changed the Carmelite Order to reflect his stricter beliefs. He is widely known among the Hispanic world for his poem “Noche Obscura del Alma” (Dark Night of the Soul). In 1926, Pope Pius XI declared him a Doctor of the Church.
