Bulgarian Frescoes: Feast of the Root

Bulgarian frescoes are imbued precisely with this love for Jesus Christ. And although the book has in its title 'Feast of the Root, ' which

refers theologically to the Virgin Mary and in particular to the Feast of the Annunciation, in this instance it has acquired a wider meaning - that of the Savior, of Orthodoxy as the root of the Bulgarian people, which has enabled them to survive for centuries, of their Tree of Life.
