Persistence is the ability to keep going-to pursue one's dreams and God-given calling-when life turns difficult and disappointments come. Persistence is overcoming obstacles and doing hard things when feelings indicate otherwise. Success requires persistence. No one reaches his or her potential without it.
The book you hold in your hands is a collection of personal stories written by Olivet Nazarene University faculty members. These individuals share experiences of persisting through challenging seasons of life. They hope to encourage students to do the same-to bounce back after getting knocked down, to stand tall when the odds are unfavorable, and to persevere through tough times.
These faculty, as the reader will learn, have endured their share of setbacks to get where they are today. Along the way, they discovered that frustrations and failures often gave way to new possibilities.
