Originally from New Milford, New Jersey, Arindam Krishna Das discovered a passion for music at an early age that would shape the course of his life. He honed his musical talents at the prestigious Interlochen Arts Academy before earning a full audition-based scholarship to the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts), where he studied Music Performance.
After settling in Santa Cruz, California, he became a vibrant presence in the local arts community; he produced, directed, and served as music director for numerous musical theatre productions throughout Santa Cruz County, sharing his love of storytelling and performance with audiences of all ages.
A devoted spiritual practitioner, Arindam received both Hari Nama and second initiation from his beloved Guru, Srila Bhakti Sundar Govinda Dev-Goswami Maharaj. His lifelong spiritual journey deeply informs his poetry and music, inspiring themes of compassion, transcendence, self-discovery, and the interconnectedness of all life.
Arindam is the proud father of four gifted children and the delighted grandfather of a wonderful young granddaughter, who continue to inspire his creative and spiritual path.
Today, he continues to write, perform, and share his music with audiences as a member of The Jamissaries (www.thejamissaries.com). More of his original music can be found through ReverbNation, where listeners can explore the songs that have inspired much of the poetry collected in Wayfarer Spirit.
