The book opens on October 7 as Nir first gets word of the invasion by Hamas. The team gradually gathers at their headquarters in Tel Aviv as October 7 continues to unfold.
We then jump ahead three months. Nir and his team are on a mission to kill all of Hamas's leadership who are hiding in other countries. Nir is involved in a targeted killing in Iran, while Nicole is part of the team that assassinates a Hamas leader in Turkey.
Prior to the assassinations, the Israeli PM threatens the president of Turkey that he must expel any Hamas leaders from his country--or Israel will pull back from their gas pipeline deal with Turkey. The president refuses, and vows that if Turkey cannot have access Israeli gas, no one will. Turkey then plots to destroy Israel's gas fields using their massive drone fleet.
Nir's team is called to thwart this attack from Turkey in Operation Sick Man--so called because Turkey is the current "Sick Man of Europe."
Both Russia and Iran offer to help Turkey because they see Israel as a competitor in the energy industry. All three want to see Israel destroyed. Eventually, Nir and his team are able to stop the Turkish plot.
After the operation is complete and everyone is settled, Nir tries to contact Nicole but is unsuccessful. Then he will get word that huge numbers of people around the world have disappeared.
This will end the Nir Tavor Mossad Thriller series, and will set up the next series tentatively titled the Nir Tavor Tribulation Series.
