Carlo Acutis was an English-born Italian Catholic teenager known for his devotion to the Eucharist and his use of digital media to promote Catholic devotion. St. Carlo Acutis has been popularly called “the patron saint of the Internet” because of his interest in computers and because he built a website that documented miracles related to the Eucharist. He is the first millennial saint.
St. Carlo Acutis's first miracle involved a Brazilian boy born with a malformed pancreas being healed after praying to Acutis. A second miracle was recognized in May 2024, after a young Costa Rican woman was healed from a serious head injury.
St. Carlo Acutis's second miracle involves the inexplicable healing of a 21-year-old Costa Rican student, Valeria Valverde, who suffered a severe head injury in a 2022 bicycle accident in Florence. After her mother made a pilgrimage to Acutis's tomb in Assisi, the young woman began to breathe on her own within days and soon made a full recovery, which Pope Francis recognized in May 2024, clearing the path for Acutis's canonization as a saint.
