Before the Flood & After

A portrait of grief and brotherhood that reimagines the foundational narratives of the Old Testament, exploring what these ancient stories can still reveal about contemporary life.

The prose poems in Before the Flood & After draw on Old Testament narratives, telling and retelling familiar stories while looking for contemporary insights and understanding. Beginning with Adam and Eve in the garden and ending with Daniel in a den of lions, these pieces explore familiar narratives while looking for gaps or cracks that allow a twenty-first-century reader to approach them with new eyes and in a new context.
